Enforcement of Court Ordered Family Law Matters
Upon completion of divorce proceedings, the Court orders the distribution of assets, alimony, child time-sharing and support. Similarly, upon completion of paternity actions for time-sharing and/or child support actions, the Court orders time-sharing and/or support. Should one party fail to follow the Order of the Court, the party may be found in contempt of Court. In this case, you have legal remedies available to you for the Party’s failure to follow the Court’s Order, whether that be failing to pay alimony, child support, or failing to follow Court Order for time-sharing/child visitation rights. In order to enforce these rights and to obtain the relief needed from the Court, including but not limited to, make-up time for days in which you were wrongfully denied access to your Minor Child(ren), back child support / alimony which you are owed and/or the other parties’ compliance with the division of your assets and liabilities, you should promptly contact and hire legal representation. In the case of child support, the parent owed unpaid child support may have the right to have the Court order the paying parent’s driver license to become suspended for failure to pay child support, as well as a right to revise the parenting plan and several other remedies at law.
